Brakes for Breasts: We’re Putting the BRAKES on BREAST CANCER Once Again!

October 5, 2026
Precision Tire and Auto Center - AZ

This October, we're turning routine brake service into an opportunity to support breast cancer vaccine research.

While replacing your brake pads may not be something you're excited about, we've turned it into something bigger than just fixing your car. For the second year in a row, we're partnering with Brakes for Breasts, where a simple brake service can help make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.

Brakes for Breasts is a nationwide program that brings independent auto repair shops together throughout October to support breast cancer vaccine research. Participating shops provide customers with free brake pads, while customers pay for labor and any other parts needed for the brake service. The participating shop then donates 10% of that brake service to the Cleveland Clinic Breast Cancer Vaccine Research Fund.

For our team, this cause hits close to home. Breast cancer has affected countless people, families, and communities, and chances are you know someone whose life has been touched by it, too.

Why Breast Cancer Research?

Why not breast cancer research?

Breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in women in the United States, affecting hundreds of thousands of women each year. Rather than focusing solely on treating breast cancer after it develops, researchers at the Cleveland Clinic are working toward something even bigger: a vaccine that could help prevent breast cancer before it starts.

Led by Dr. Vincent Tuohy and his team, Cleveland Clinic researchers are working to develop a preventative vaccine designed to train the body's immune system to recognize and destroy emerging breast cancer cells before tumors can form.

It's a different approach to fighting breast cancer, and it's one we're proud to support through Brakes for Breasts.

How Brakes for Breasts Works

Ready to drive change with a simple brake job? Here’s how it works:

·      Free Brake Pads: When you schedule a qualifying brake service with us in October, you receive your brake pads for free.

  • Standard Labor & Parts: You simply pay for the installation labor and any additional necessary parts (such as rotors or hardware).
  • 10% Direct Donation: Our shop donates 10% of the total brake service cost directly to the Cleveland Clinic Breast Cancer Vaccine Research Fund.

100% of proceeds raised by Brakes for Breasts go directly to research.

And if you'd like to take things a step further, you can make a direct donation through the Brakes for Breasts website to help support their breast cancer vaccine research efforts.

Signs Your Vehicle Needs a Brake Check

Ready to participate but unsure if your brakes need attention? Thankfully, it’s pretty easy to spot the warning signs of failing brake components while behind the wheel. It’s time for a brake inspection if you notice any of the following:

  • Squeal or High-Pitched Chirping: Built-in metallic indicators contacting the rotor to alert you that pad friction material is running dangerously low.
  • Harsh Grinding Sounds: Metal-on-metal contact indicating the pad material is completely gone and immediate service is required to prevent rotor destruction.
  • Soft or Spongy Brake Pedal: Reduced hydraulic pressure caused by air in the lines, moisture buildup, or declining brake fluid efficiency.
  • Steering Wheel Flutter or Vibration: Warped brake rotors creating uneven contact during deceleration.
