If 20+ years in Phoenix has taught us one thing, it’s that taking care of our neighbors is just as vital as taking care of their vehicles. Each year, we brainstorm new ways to support our local neighbors, and this year, we’ve come up with something special.
This May, we are shifting gears – one fueled by comPAWssion, legacy, and a deep love for our four-legged friends.
We are incredibly proud to announce our next community initiative: Repairs for Rescues. For the entire month of May, every single car that rolls through our shop for service will result in a $5 donation directly to a local animal rescue.
For our very first year of Repairs for Rescues, we’re honored to partner with Rusty’s Angels Sanctuary, a local nonprofit dedicated to giving senior dogs the care, comfort, and dignity they deserve.
Meet Rusty's Angels Sanctuary
Every great mission starts with a big heart. For Rusty’s Angels Sanctuary, it started 12 years ago with a senior dog named Rusty. When Founding President Emilee Spear found Rusty, he was on the euthanasia list due to his age and extensive list of medical challenges.
After spending time loving, caring, and nursing him back to health, the time came for Rusty to find a "forever home." But Rusty had already found it. He refused to eat in anyone else's care, making it clear that he belonged with Emilee. From that bond, a legacy was born. Rusty’s Angels began as a haven for those often overlooked: senior dogs aged 10 and older.
Since Rusty, the sanctuary has grown into a five-acre haven featuring air-conditioned tiny homes, private yards, and a dedicated space focused on comfort and care. They have also expanded by adding a “Farm of Hope” where rescued chickens, ducks, goats, donkeys, and more can call home.
Why This Matters to Us
As a small, family-owned auto repair shop, we understand the value of a lifelong bond. Many of us have pets who are truly part of our families – and in many ways, part of the Precision team.
While we love our pets through every stage of life, we also know that not every animal gets that same experience. Many of the dogs at Rusty’s come from heartbreaking situations – owners who have passed away, moved into hospice or assisted living, or families who can no longer afford the care they need.
We also understand the real cost of caring for animals, especially senior pets. At Rusty’s Angels Sanctuary, it costs an average of $2,000 per dog each year to provide essentials like food, medical care, grooming, and transportation. For long-term residents, that number can be even higher.
Knowing that Rusty’s may be the final home for many of these dogs, we want to help make their last chapter as comfortable, safe, and loved as possible.

This May, we are inviting our community to be part of something bigger. When you schedule your vehicle at Precision Tire and Auto Center, you’re doing more than maintaining your car; you’re helping provide a warm bed, proper medical care, and a place to belong for a dog who might otherwise have nowhere else to go. With your help, their final chapter can be filled with the comfort, love, dignity and compassion they truly deserve.
